After spending the last 10 seasons as an assistant coach at Coastal Carolina, he knows the Big South Conference and Presbyterian head coach Harold Nichols well.
"I'm thrilled to be at Presbyterian College and part of this coaching staff," Watson said. "I've always admired PC and the tradition here. I've known Coach Nichols for more than 20 years and I have tremendous respect for him and his approach to the game."
Watson coached safeties at Coastal Carolina, assisted with special teams and was responsible for coaching outside linebackers in 2010. He also served as recruiting coordinator from 2002-07.
"He has a great reputation among his peers in our profession and will help us as we continue our journey into building a championship program," Nichols said.
Watson also was an assistant coach at Wofford and Newberry College, his alma mater. He was a three-year starter at cornerback before graduating from Newberry in 1989.
Presbyterian finished with 4-7 overall and 3-3 Big South records last season.

Terrell Owens could return for Cowboys next game
